Yesterday was way windy but............ still have to work.......so G and I rode in the arena... lots of circles and working on his neck reining... this is something that I was surprised that he did not understand.. he has been to 3 trainer or more and still did not have this skill... he still has a long way to go.. but he's getting there...I believe you can get a horse STARTED.. in 90 days but it really takes 6 months of serious training to get a horse really started... and going a long so that he will have the skills and experence to make advancement.. Folks always ask me how long it takes to break a horse... and
The other day I was asked if I had ever had a horse that I could not fix.. and I told them NO.......then I got to thinking about that when I got home.........and I have not worked with a horse that I could not get to do what I needed or wanted him to do.........but when they went home... their owners could not get the same things done... not that what I did was magic or anything like that.. but I realized that the owners did not have the tools or the skill to keep up what we had done here....so my goal...is to teach PEOPLE... help them to see how they can do these same things if they will just work at it... a little...and have the WANT... to learn... I work with folks that have the romantic notion of working with their horse......but don't have a real WANT...and so they get very little done with their horses...
Jaw still hurts after having teeth pulled two day ago.. it's got to get to feeling better soon...
now.. time for coffee..
