Have been thinkin about the bigger bit idea. I know it seems like it would be the easier option, and I guess you could sure use it as that, but I think it is a lot like using a bigger needle to get more medicien. It will sure work, but I bet you don't get a chance to do it twice.
We all want our horses to be something special, me too. And we think that there is a faster, easier way to get that done, I use to think that too. So I tried all kinds of things. Every device I could find to make that happen faster. Then I realized that if I would have taken all the time I used trying to figure out faster ways to get something done, and used that time in working with my horse I would not have the problems that I was having, and, I would have saved a ton of money. It is tempting to take the short cuts you see folks offering, I know I have tried a bunch of them, cause we all want it NOW. Well guess what? It don't happen now, especially with horses. See they don't have a watch or a time piece. They live in the real world, and the sooner we decide that's where we need to be, the sooner our horses will come around to our way of thinking. Remember we are dealing with a living, breathing, thinking animal. That means you and I have to think too, and use more of the muscle between our ears, cause that's what it's really going to take. But you say, I want to do it the way the cowboy's did it. Well you can do that, but the biggest percentage of horses worked the way cowboys "use to work horses" ended up in the death of more horses and a few cowboys. Now I know lots of cowboys, today, and I know very few that work horses like they did in the early days.
So bigger bit? You can. It works. Just like tying your horse to the back of your truck and going down the road to teach your horse to lead. It will work.
I think there is a better way.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
