Charlie checking out his hobbles!
Charlie continues with his hobble training and is doing better and better everyday. We will continue this for another week, along with other stuff but this is a big one for him. It always takes a little time. You have to allow the horse time to understand what is expected of him, and you have to allow enough time for him to figure out that he can't get out of the hobbles with out your help. So there is a little struggle at first, so I never just hobble a horse and walk off and leave him for hours unattended. I want to be there the first few time so if he gets himself in to trouble I can help him out of it. Charlie has struggles a little everyday so far but less and less each day.
My neighbor up the road on the Ten Canyon Ranch asked me to help him for a few day, get his calfs in before we have any real bad weather, so will help him the rest of this week get that done, and will work with Charlie when I get in. The Ten Canyon is a wonderful ranch, and covers a lot of country. I have helped there in the past many times so am looking forward to helping them out again. I'm going to try and take my camera so I can get some picture to share with all of you.
We have canceled the clinic scheduled for this weekend because of possible weather. The weather on that side of the mountain can, and is, so different from our side. It was fourteen degrees there this morning and only thirty two here. So a huge difference, and it just ain't no fun if it's cold. We will reschedule for another time in the future.
Time for coffee.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
