Yesterday my buddy Mark and I went north of Kingston NM to see if we could see where the Silver fire had burned. We got pretty close and could see areas where the fire had been.
I took the Gray and Mark snapped the picture above. The Gray is doing better and better. You will remember I was telling you that you could feel him getting nervous when you got on his back. Well, that seems, at least for now, to have gone away. I have been riding him bare foot and we are going to have to put shoes on him. He is just to soft footed for this country. His owner wanted to give him a shot at being bare foot but it's not going to happen I'm afraid. True, a guy could put protective boots on him, and I have done that with other horses, but I think the country here is even a little hard on those. So, Clint will get his farrier and they are going to come up one morning this week and get him done.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
