A little smoke this morning but not bad. I don’t think it will stay long when the wind picks up.
Had a really good time with my grandson and granddaughter. Matt, my grandson, had is first riding lesson yesterday. He did a great job. He is only 10 but did just what grandpa asked him to do and he did really, really well. Looking forward to the day when we will be able to go see country together. There is so much I want to show him. Bay, my granddaughter, will get her first lesson in the next couple of days.
Today, Matt and I are off to get a couple of horses shod. Use to be that there was a farrier under every rock but not any more. I have called two in the past couple of weeks. One would not take the time to help us and the other did not return two calls that I placed with him. It must be nice to be so busy that you can tell folks that you don’t need their money. That’s sure not the case here at Mackie Redd Horsemanship.
Pepe and Casino continue to make good progress. It’s fun to see the difference between a horse that has been here for a couple of weeks and one that has been here for over 90 days. Sometimes when you work with horses, a lot, you get to thinking that things are just not moving fast enough. But when you have horses that are so far apart in their training as I have in these two horses, you start to really see why time is so important in a training program. Pepe will be just fine. He just needs more time and I think that’s what his owner wants for him too.
Better get going but first COFFEE!
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
