Man, it's really cold here this morning. It was five degrees when I got us and they say it feels like it's minus seven degrees. Now that's cold, I don't care who you are.
I let the dogs out, have no idea why they would want to go outside in weather like this. Oh, that's right, they have too. Anyway, they love it. Running around like they had been in a box all their lives. But when I cracked the door to take these photos they were right their, ready to get back in bed with mom.
This is the view from the back porch. Without a covered heated arena, it don't make any sense to get your horse out and saddle and go for a ride. I know, I know, you can call me a sissy if you want, I'm ok with that. But I know my boys don't like it either. So what do you do for your horse on days like this. Well I'll tell you what I do, not only for my horse but for me also. I read. That's right I read. I try to find info on the internet or anywhere I can, that will help me with my horsemanship. If your reading this, you are, I hope, benefiting from the reading and learning I have done. Or at least I hope you are able to use the info you find here. Kathy told me I should write this blog. At the time I told her that I didn't think that anyone would be interested or would ever read it. Again, I was wrong and she was right. She said that people would love to have info that was practical, that worked and didn't cost them an arm and a leg to get. Well, I know, from some of your comment to my blog, that you do like what you find here and you are using it, and that's really great. So keep it up. There is a lot of info out their today. Some of it's very good, some of it not so good. But if you are a horseman at heart, you will be able to tell the difference. And to tell you the truth. I learn as much from watching people that are doing it wrong as I do from those that are doing it right. You may have found that true your self.
I'm always looking for better ways to do what I do, and looking for people that do it better then me, so I can learn from them. I hope you will do the same in your efforts to become what your horse needs you to be, a better leader.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
