It's was a pretty long week last week. There were lots of new things and horses to learn. I'm hoping, and confident that this week and the weeks to come will get better.
I think that the boarder are starting to settle with the changes at the barn. I know that they have been a little concerned about how their horses would react to me and my help, Jeep and Star. But, they seem to be. I have had a couple of conversations with some of them, and they seem ok with the changes.
Owners can usually tell if their horses are happy, content would be a better word I guess, with how they are being handled. One owner said, "when I went to put the fly mask on my horse and he put his head down to have it put on, I knew he was just fine with the changes".
Others are liking the fact that we are cleaning the place up. Just stuff that has been around the barn for ever. Broken down chairs and planters, stuff like that. I'm cleaning that stuff up and getting it away from the barn. I'm trying to make the barn a safer place for horses and humans.
I think I may have a new student here. She has lots ofconfidence when she is in the saddle but gets run over when she it on the ground with her horse. She said that she had read some of my blog and was sorry that she had been afraid of me. I understand that. Some new guy with a black hat starts taking care of your horse, you think he's a some cowboy and what could he know about horses. I'm looking forward to helping her with her horse.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
