Matt and his Mom!
Had a really good day with Pepe and his owner, Laurie. Pepe is really starting to come around. For horses that are really dominate it takes about 30 days of training before they want to give up their place in the herd and really start to try to get in the program. Pepe is one of those horses. In order for a horse like Pepe to continue to make progress he is going to need more time here and he is going to REALLY need the attention when he goes back home. Laurie agrees and has decided to let Pepe stay another month.
I started yesterday, to teach Laurie the things she will need to know, not only about Pepe, but about herself as well. Laurie has some really good skills when it comes to horses, but like in all things, there is always room for improvement. So, we started working on refining what she already knows and working on some other skills she will need to know.
Pepe’s owner is going to try and come later this week to continue to work with us.
Casino will be heading home here pretty soon. I think that he leaves some time next week. Will miss him. He is a good boy and we have learned a lot together. He has been with me awhile now and is a pretty well behaved horse. He has his moments but that’s just who he is. He continues to get better.
Here are some more pictures of the visit of the girls and friends.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
