The Kellsy Cabin.
The picture to the left is what's left of a cabin up on Animas Creek. It's not in the picture but just about 200 yards to the right, is the Buffalo Soldiers Memorial. I have ridden in to this area many time and camped not far from this cabin. The cabin is known as the Kellsy place. The fire continues to burn, the Silver Fire, but is over a 100,000 acres away from us now.
Today I have a trail ride to take Mary on and her friend from back east. Then this afternoon the Gray will be getting new shoes on.
I have talked that last couple days about horses that need shoes and those that don't. This is a horse that really seems to need them. The fact that he does not have shoes is slowing down his training cause I can't take him out of the arena. So with that done we will be able to put some miles on him before he heads home in a couple of weeks.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
