Stallions time on the rail!
These two new horses here the Gray and the Stallion, have been dragging me around the arena and round pen this passed week. And both of these horses are old enough that they should be passed all of this by now, but, for whatever reasons, their owners never got around to it. The Gray has been ridden before, why anyone would want to get on a horse that has the issues this horse has is beyond me, and the Stallion they never touched.
The point I’m trying to make is, it don’t take much if you start early with a horse and spend a little time teaching him who the leader is. If you wait till they are older it’s a lot tougher. A person just has to stay at it. Have a program and stay with it. You can teach your horse who the leader is by just working with them a little each day you are around them.
These two boys are making good progress. I worry that when they get home their program will take a back seat to riding. So, the hope is I can give them a good enough foundation in a short period of time that will serve them and their owners well.
Bitsy is doing great. I hope to spend more time out of the arena with her this week and weeks to come.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
