Yesterday was the first day of several days of gathering cattle on the Ten Canyon ranch. Was a cold day most of the day and looks like it is going to be a cold one today. Is 25 degrees here at the house right now. Mike, the owner of the ranch, has a rich history in the ranching business. His great grandfather homesteaded in Az. in the eighteen hundreds. Then the grandfather and his father and now Mike. It is a treat to listen to stories from Mike as we are looking for cattle. We are gathering up cattle that he wants to move to their winter pastures and getting big calfs off their moms. We gathered some where around 35 head of mother cows so for just two guys was a good day. We will be doing more of the same today.
Tim taking a break.
I came across this tree when looking for cows yesterday. Was a great looking tree and the picture does not do it justice, but I promised some pictures so here ya go.
I am seeing a lot of border patrol activity out here on the ranch that I have never seen before. For the past two weeks their have been border patrol vehicles as far back as the national forest. Not sure what's up with that but is never a good sign. I think that they are putting so much pressure on the drug movements in Az. that they have pushed them father to the east into our back yard. Hope that's not the case but the boarder patrol sure seem busy right now.
Will try and keep you updated with info on what the heck I'm doing with horses and music.
