What people are saying about Mackie's music!
I met you at the walnut Vallie festival in Winfield ks a couple of yours ago. I want you to know that my grandfather passed that year and any money I might have tried to give you that night couldn't possibly cover what your music has meant to me since then. I'm a trucker traveling the Midwest hauling cars and I don't think I likely cry for anything life throws my way. To this day when I put you're CD in I'm fortunate enough to remember my grandpa (Max)and I cant help but cry like a child. Enjoy the ride is a true gift to the world. I just wanted to thank you.
I was going through some old video I had of "Flood Year" at the My Grass Is Blue site on Sunday night when I first heard you play and it amazes me how I instantly remember the feeling of knowing I was witnessing something truly special. You played Enjoy the ride, Superman, I Love Being here (Ad libed about Steve Fisher and John Williams and others around the fire), but the one that will never leave my soul for sure was I Know I'm Free. I just wanted to say thank you for being a part of the change Winfield made on me that year forever. You are one of those artists that leave an imprint on people forever, just stumbling upon those songs today made my whole year. Thank you for what you do!
